The verbenone chemotype of rosemary comes from South Africa, is rather mild and is well suited as an adjunct to massages. Organic rosemary supports the ability to concentrate and memory. Although this type of rosemary contains a ketone called verbenone, the essential oil is non-toxic and fairly mild. However, as a precautionary measure, it should not be used on children under the age of 6. Avoid during pregnancy and in young children.
