PATCHOULI (Pogostemon patchouli): - The Patchouli has a pungent, invigorating and mentally stimulating aroma. It is often added to perfumes as a fixative and for its mysterious oriental hue. Its strong, rather sweet and intoxicating scent can intrigue and calm when used in very small amounts, however, when used too much, the Patchouli can overwhelm. Although widely appreciated for its fragrant quality, Patchouli is a very important part of all Oriental medicines, where it is used for its antiseptic and anti-fungal properties and as a strengthening agent for diarrhea and constipation. Patchouli has also proven itself in skin care and is known for its cell-regenerating qualities. Can be used for redness of the skin, wounds and cracks.
